24 good white rolls
24 pieces good honey ham
24 small slices swiss cheese
1/3 mayo
1/3 cup miracle whip

{poppy seed sauce}

1 1/2 TBSP poppy seeds
1 1/2 TBSP yellow mustard
1 stick butter, melted
1 TBSP minced onion
1/2 tsp. worschestershire sauce

in a small bowl, mix together mayo & miracle whip. spread into both sides of the center of each roll. place a slice of ham & a slice of swiss inside of each roll. close rolls & place into a large baking dish or heavy cookie sheet. place very close together.
in a medium bowl, whisk together all of the poppy seed sauce ingredients. pour evenly over all of the sandwiches. let sit 10 minutes, or until butter sets slightly. cover with foil & bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. uncover & cook for 2 additional minutes. serve warm.

note: i am normally not a fan of swiss nor is my husband. both of us thought the flavor was incredible in these! do not let the swiss scare you :)

Those are delicious, my mom made them a month or so ago for something she had and then made some for us to eat too. I remembered the recipe she used, and this is it. I can't wait to make them again!

These are the BEST! My friend's mom gave me the recipe and I have been passing it around. They taste best with soft rolls and I also make them on big rolls for my husband and I! Sooo yummy and easy!

These are a staple at our house. We make them on hogie buns and cut them in thirds. They are so good. They make great left-overs too.

Do you think I could sub the miracle whip with sour cream. or just use mayo? I really don't like miracle whip!!

it seems like there is a lot more poppy seeds on the sandwiches on the picture.... is it really just 1 1/2 tbsp??

For all sandwiches, pittas and toasts I have a great tip. Cut a tomato in half and rub it on the bread, then use jamon iberico de bellota rather than standard ham or parma. Jamon iberico –the Spanish name- is also called iberico ham or black hoof. Iberico is really excellent and much more tasty than other hams.
You can buy your jamon iberico at BuyJamon.com

BuyJamon.com the market place for iberico ham.
